A structured procedure to test whether a proposed harvest strategy will achieve the required objectives in the context of, and despite, identified uncertainties in monitoring/observations, stock/fishery dynamics and management implementation. Testing is usually conducted by mathematical simulation modelling, but it can also be applied using qualitative expert judgement.
